BRISTOL PITBULLS

NIHL 1

The Bristol Pitbulls are a senior ice hockey club founded in 2009 by Richie Hargreaves, marking the return of competitive ice hockey to Bristol after a 16-year absence. Based in Bristol, England, they currently compete in the NIHL National League, the top tier of the National Ice Hockey League system in the UK. The team plays its home games at Planet Ice Bristol in Cribbs Causeway, having returned to the city in October 2021 after several seasons in exile due to rink closures.

Their club colours are blue, white, and black, and they enjoy strong local support from their dedicated fan group, known as “The Pack.”

BRISTOL PITBULLS 2

NIHL South 2

The Bristol Pitbulls 2 were established in 2010 as a development team to support the senior squad. They currently compete in the NIHL South Division 2 and share their home at Planet Ice Bristol in Cribbs Causeway.

Coached by Stuart Spells and overseen by club founder Richie Hargreaves, the team focuses on nurturing local talent and providing a pathway for players aiming to progress to the National League side. Notable contributors in recent seasons have included forwards such as James Wood, Ollie Shone, and Joseph Caccavale, who have been among the team’s top point-scorers.

BRISTOL MUTTS

The Mutts are an entry level team, designed for beginners, which focuses on developing a players skills.
 
The Mutts train on Monday nights at Planet Ice Bristol, & play non-checking ice hockey – perfect for beginners & those still learning.
 
The Mutts are currently full at present, however if you are interested in joining out wait list – please contact us.

BRISTOL MADDOGS

The Maddogs are one of two Rec teams under the Bristol Ice Hockey umbrella.
 
Formed 13 years ago, but mothballed until recently, The Maddogs are a team of mixed ability, but learn towards the more experienced adult players.
 
The Maddogs play both checking and non-checking ice hockey.

The Underdogs are one of two teams under the Bristol Ice Hockey umbrella.

Pitbulls Rec are a development level team. Perfect for adults who are new to the sport and/or looking to join a team for the first time.
