The Dayshift Recruitment Bristol Pitbulls have secured their netminding for the upcoming season by re-signing Ross Miller and Andy Leckie.
This will be Miller’s third season for the Pitbulls after initially being signed as a third option in 2016. After John Dibble left mid-season to step up a league and provide injury cover for the Invicta Dynamos, Miller took over the starting position and quickly built a reputation as a game winner.
At the end of his first season, Miller’s performances in the Bristol net were acknowledged when he won the club’s award for Best Defenceman. Last year, not only did he defend that title, but he added the Player of the Year.
Andy Leckie returns for a fourth season, having passed Ross Webster in second place as the goalie with more appearances for the club. Leckie achieved that feat in the last game of last season, his 65th for the club.
Popular with fans and in the dressing room, Leckie won the Supporters Club Player of the Year in 2017 and Coaches’ Player of the Year in 2016.
Coach Richie Hargreaves will discuss these signings in our next Dunamis Sports podcast episode, where we hope to also be joined by Ross Miller.
Mac Coppock has informed the club that he will not be returning next season as he seeks an opportunity to further his career elsewhere. The Bristol Pitbulls are always pleased to see players able to use the opportunities that the club have given them to advance their hockey. The club thanks Mac for all that he and his family have done and wish him the very best for the future.
